We will be sharing these slides as well as the recording with all registered participants of today’s session as well as on our website.

43:36
Do you follow the Common Foundations process for guiding adoption of impact measurement practices? 1. PLAN YOUR CHANGE; 2. USE PERFORMANCE INDICATORS; 3. COLLECT USEFUL INFORMATION; 4. GAUGE PERFORMANCE AND IMPACT; 5. REPORT ON RESULTS

47:42
It's great to see your leadership at PMV over the long run.

48:18
yes!

52:18
Aha I love that they called it “Good Enough” that’s so great :)

52:38
Yes… the good enough theory of change :)

52:39
Trying to get to a perfect Theory of Change always trips us up

52:41
:)

52:44
Its a work in progress

53:08
It's a dynamic thing, most of the time.

53:30
exactly

53:59
A TOC should be “revisited” every year, in order to adapt to changing realities of the organisation

54:48
We have theories of change for each department. Should we have one for the entire organization

54:49
So are these factors that are necessary before engaging? I think coaching could help with #2 and #3 (you mention another stream you offer for #1). But could the impact measurement coaching stream support seeking clarity on #2 or 3 or 4?

55:11
Karen - yes, it is recommended in order to create more synergy btw programs

55:20
Thanks.

56:12
Meagan - Yes. IM stream can assist with steps 2-4

56:20
Thank you!!

58:25
we are working through developing an organizational ToC at the moment - the complexity of our system really is making it a challenge

59:52
I feel for you Corinne. An org-wide TOC can be challenging. Although painful at times, it can strengthen the common vision, and help everyone on the team align around which outcomes to achieve

01:00:16
Are for-profit social enterprises eligible for the coaching funding?

01:01:01
What is the difference between an outcome measurement framework and the impact measurement we are discussing here.

01:01:20
Yes, social entreprise organisation’s can be elligible for funding

01:01:32
Do you partner with other service organizations? I manage Climate Ventures for CSI and support cleantech startups, looking for coaching and teaching support for them on their IM journeys..

01:01:52
Can I email someone directly to chat?

01:02:27
Usually “OUTCOME” refers to a short or medium term change, or outcomes, that then lead to broader, long term IMPACTS

01:02:51
Hi everyone. I am an Innoweave coach with considerable experience in these tasks, and Co-Principal of Catalyst Research and Development. If you are interested in exploring possibilities, do use the Innoweave platform. My email is ekrupa@ualberta.ca.

01:02:55
Do you mean Feb 2022?

01:03:49
Please correct date on your slide.

01:05:35
If anyone is interested in scaling impact related to equity, diversity and inclusion please feel free to contact me at solutions@darrendwalker.com

01:06:05
Thank you Ana, Laura, Lara and Veronique.

01:06:09
If our organization is already engaging an M&E consultant, would it make sense to engage in this coaching process (for upskilling staff)

01:06:55
Thank you to McConnell Foundation for Innoweave. Truly an important tool for non profits and organizations at large looking to maximize impact. And a great ecosystem to be a part of. thank you!

01:06:58
Can you speak to how your approach changes, if at all, when dealing with environmental outcomes? Specifically climate solutions?

01:07:44
Will do @darren

01:08:59
As a coach, if you are interested in applying commitments-based technology to nudge the adoption of impact measurement practices and track progress, please feel free to contact me at https://www.linkedin.com/in/alextodd/ I'd be happy to show you what we have already created for Common Foundations for Impact Measurement.

01:09:59
From our IM experience at Social Impact Advisors, Environmental orgs are no different. We’re more likely to talk about sphere of control, looking at the system. This can also be the case for a systems change org in the social space.

01:10:06
Thank you!

01:10:52
@Laura - we are finding that it is really uncovering some divergent thinking processes that have been impacting our program delivery - it is amazing how much of a difference we are anticipating by the conclusion of this exercise. Our team facilitates community development processes to improve health outcomes across central Zone AHS in Alberta. part of our frustration is that health promotion has not received lot of guidance in expectations within our organization. we have turned to ToC to ground us back in our founcational documents and align our practicers

01:12:01
The healthcare system is another complex ecosystem! Especially as it extends out into public health. That is where I do a lot of my IM work.

01:13:06
we're currently at about 80 assumptions -

01:13:25
We work with a multi-stakeholder approach. As such, many of our impact measurement is also tied to our partners ability to collect data related to different indicators in a uniform way tied to our collaborative projects and programs. Is there a step that supports a train the trainers approach for supporting working group members support their own team? We are also working on local food systems development...systems change complexity applies :)

01:13:28
So great @Corinne that you are going back to your ToC to ground you again

01:14:28
It is challenging but doable to create organizational level theory of change but can work well when doing program level. Catalyst has done so with Big Brothers Big Sisters Boys and Girls Club (BGCBigs) in Edmonton and northern Alberta. If anyone would like to explore further, feel free to contact ekrupa@ualberta.ca.

01:14:43
Is it possible to join the community of Practice outside of the coaching streams?

01:15:14
Not meaning to do shameless promotion - just communicating that it is doable and helpful :-)

01:15:22
Yes. We have a dual need role - our own capacity to measure the multi-stakeholder projets, but getting support / participation from our partners. GREAT Thanks!

01:16:13
the role that I play within our organization is to coach communities in moving forward as well as coaching within our tema

01:16:30
tahnk you for this session

01:16:33
Thank you!

01:16:55
THank you!
